Very boring movie. I had higher expectations with such a good cast. It's amazing I stayed awake through the whole thing.

Made me laugh. Realistic characters in a great combination of personalities.

As a fan of Noam Murro, I thought I would really enjoy this film. Unfortunately, I was wrong. Smart People was dull, SJP and Quaid completely lacked chemistry, and the story fumbled and bumbled about. The first 15 minutes were enjoyable, so I gave the film 1.5 stars, but the instant SJP entered the film, it took a nose dive. Don't waste your time.

This movie had potential, but it was trying to hard. No edge, blah soundtrack and only believable character was Thomas Hayden Church. Rent "Wonder Boys" to see what this movie wanted to be.

Kinda dragged a bit. The plot was a little empty, but the acting was decent. A very somber movie.

I did enjoy the actors, but the storyline was very odd feeling. I would suggest it as a movie to watch when absolutely nothing else is available!

Laconic, but solid cast, particularly Ellen Page. Characters as gloomy as the settings, but perhaps what Murro intended. More weary psychological study than entertainment.

We viewed it up to an hour into the film before finally giving up on it. We like Sarah Jessica Parker, but even she couldn't keep us engaged long enough to finish it. Character development is as convaluted and perverse as that in "little miss sunshine".

This was an intersting movie with some fun contrasts in personalities. Church was superb as the bum brother and Ellen Page also as the daughter. But I didn't buy Dennis Quaid's version of an intellectual. They should have cast someone else in the lead part.
