James Keach's romantic comedy Blind Dating concerns a 22-year old blind man named Danny (Chris Pine). Though Danny refuses to let his visual deficiency keep him from enjoying every aspect of life, he does shy away from women. When his brother Larry (Eddie Kaye Thomas) discovers Danny is a virgin, he makes every effort to lift that burden from him. Although a series of dates goes very wrong in a number of ways, Danny eventually meets a nurse (Anjali Jay), who agrees to go out with him, although her Indian family may prove a greater hindrance to their happiness than his medical condition. ~ Perry Seibert, Rovi
I liked Chris Pine's character who wouldn't give in to blindness, also his brother's attempts to get him a girl friend were hilarious. I also liked the potential couple because of the quiet talking and getting to know each other that led to the romance. They responded to each other because of their behavior, not looks.
I love this movie, I find it well written and very well acted. Chris Pine is just about my favorite actor and he did an excellent job portraying a blind man.
It's certainly worth watching. It's light and funny and sweet. Not terribly believable in some ways (I've never heard of an Indian parent who DIDN'T want her daughter to become a doctor), but I enjoyed it very much.
This movie may be better than I rate it. I felt it not appropriate for kids. There is an "impromptu" pole dancing scene which should be funny, but when frantically covering the eyes of kids becomes less than funny. I do not feel garters and pole dancing is appropriate for 16 year olds much less the PG 13 rating. This obviously left a bad taste in my mouth.
