This movie has all parts of ups and downs for all of the characters. I love that Cheadle learns a valuable family "comes first" lesson through the tragedy that struck and destroyed Sandler's life!! This movie really teaches serious valuable life lessons to all of us; take time for family and choose your words carefully because you never know when it will be the last time to say the special things you think of and don't say! This is the best movie I have seen in a long time and it deserves major awards!! I will be going to buy this movie; it is a must have in the DVD collection. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Read More I had the pleasure of seeing Adam Sandler in person at the graduation ceremoniy from my daughters Medical School in Florida May 2007. His sister in law graduated at that time..and in spite of sitting on the front row with NO SECURITY..he was a total GENTLEMAN..signing autographs and posing for photos with dozens of students..even though his wife and baby daughter were with him. He seemed like such a 'real person'..no snobbishness nor aloofness..and I've always enjoyed his talent from 'Operaman' on Saturday Night Live..to 'Click' and this film. He certainly 'played the part' of a 'lost soul.' I think it was a little 'too much'..and at times unrealistic..but the pairing of Sandler and Don Cheadle was extraordinary..and Jada Pinkett Smith was the perfect 'wife' for Don Cheadle's successful dentist character. The film is happy and sad..bittersweet yet inspiring in many ays and I strongly recommend it. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

Read More I almost didn't get this movie simply because I couldn't believe that Adam Sandler could pull off a heartfelt dramatic role. I'm glad I took a chance on it, because I was dead wrong. He did a superb job of playing a miserable, tortured man, and he actually made be believe that his character was someone who had lost his entire family to tragedy. I am a big fan of Sandler's comedies like the Waterboy, Happy Gilmore, and Big Daddy. I'm so happy to see that he is actually a versatile actor who can play more than just the funny man. I already considered Don Cheadle to be a fine, multi-talented actor, and he certainly did not disappoint in his role as the good samaritan. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

Read More This was the worst movie ever, almost laughable. Whoever believes that Adam Sandler can actually act should watch some of the classic movies and get a better understanding of the art of acting. This movie could have been wonderful with another actor in the role because it did have a message, but it was trite and limited by the tight boundaries of the depth of the actors. Even Don Cheadle lowered his standards. Even though I did not have high hopes when I turned the movie on, I thought that a Mike Binder film would be at least a bit meatier, very disappointing on the whole.
