Read More Stellar performances given by all the actors, especially Ben Foster. Cinematography was nothing less than brilliant, and the fact that this was shot on location (and not on a soundstage) makes the movie that much more stunning. Yes, the ending is rustling up some controversy, but don't let that distract you from how perfectly put together this movie happens to be. Worth every minute you spend watching it, and every penny you spent renting/buying. A truly great epic western that shouldn't be missed! Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

It is no doubt one of the best western movies in the past twenty years. The hero, Dan Evan a poor down on his luck rancher that faces a dilemma to save his ranch by volunteering to join a group men with the purpose of delivering Ben Wade a notorious outlaw to the 3:10 Prison Train. All the while Wadeâs ruthless gang of cutthroats is chasing the group. In the end, it comes down to Evans against the gang as all the rest runs from the confrontation. The movie leaves a person with a feeling of right against a massive evil and the might of one man against it. Watch this movie, you will not be disappointed if you like a good western. Read More The 'Bad Guy' doesn't win in the end but then again, he's not exactly without a fast getaway horse. If the devil walked the sands in the wild west, he might be a lot like Crowe's character, Ben Wade. He'd have an unscrupulous crew and a formidable side kick. But being the dark one, he'd also like to quote the bible, sketch, be well travelled and well read, have an appreciation for green-eyed women, and engage in the most interesting of conversations with good folk. On the opposite side you have the characters, Dan Evans, and his son Will. Earnest people getting cheated by railroad investors. The situation at hand may have drawn them into this fight but their integrity sees them through it. For them it's nothing personal because although they learn that Ben Wade is not all bad, they do the right thing anyway. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

Crowe did a fabulous job, especially considering that I am not a big fan. I have loved Bale since I first saw him in "Little Women," and I thought he did this part well too.
Overall, it was a fine movie, but lacked originality and credibility. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

Read More This started out as an interesting movie and had excellent acting overall(Crowe,Bale,Foster, and Mol). Unfortunately , the story got boring and the (non-comedic) ineptitude of those taking the prisoner was tiresome. Almost seems like a different screenwriter came in for the last half-hour which was nonsense. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No
