The graphics and art was great in this movie, but that was about it. I did like that they brought back all of the original people, but the story was just missing so much. The first film was great, based on the fact that we saw what was hell boy's purpose in life. This film just seemed to be more about the comedic aspect of the film instead of what's the true meaning of hell boy. This had the potential to be great but fell way short of that goal. Read More Most everything I liked about the 1st movie is here and then some.We even get reminded of the back story a little bit,,but not so much it's annoying,, at the start up with John Hurt in an story/plot setup scene. This one is bigger, as in more production money put into it, as to make it a slicker/glossier Hollywood type film ,and thats not a bad thing in this case ! I think were guaranteed a 3rd film in a couple years, and I'll be anxious to see that one too! Good escapist Saturday afternoon type popcorn flick. I will recommend to my friends! What a disappointment. It was more like a Sci-Fi home movie, than a ... Read More I liked the first installment of Hellboy and when I saw the previews for the 2nd I was very excited, until I saw the movie.
What a disappointment. It was more like a Sci-Fi home movie, than a major movie. I think the actors did a good enough job with what they had to work with. They replaced a few original actors with sloppy unlikable ones and made us "humans" look like complete morons.

It wasn't bad but I wouldn't rank it better than the first one. Hellboy is the usual funny guy and the other characters aren't much of a help to him as usual... and where did Liz's blue flames go, they looked much better.
Overall, the story line was better than the first but it had quite a few parts that were pretty average. Not bad, not great. Definitely one to rent... once. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No |
