It was good to see what life is like in an area where most people do not like Americans and get a true picture of what the rest of the world thinks of the US actions in Iraq and Afghanistan. It also brings to light that it is not right to categorize all Muslims under the same blanket and think they're all fanatics. I was very impressed with the direction and also the acting. Thought it would at least have a story line about Marianne and how she had gotten on with her life, but instead it was just a repeat of the headlines we had all seen over and over. Read MoreWatch Angelina Jolie in this movie. Watch the composure she plays Marianne Pearl with until the end. And watch her when it all falls away. If you've paid any attention to the news since 9/11, you've certainly heard the story of Daniel Pearl. So when the end comes, it's really no surprise. Nevertheless, if you lose yourself in the moment, you can really feel the tension. Marianne, her close friends, Daniel's family, and most of the globe plod through not knowing what comes next, and this movie does a great job re-creating the tension. Read MoreI love movies based on true stories and looked so forward to viewing this one.....I was very disappointed. The movie idea was a good idea, however the movie it self was slow moving, and every one seemed to be too emotionless at times for what they were going through. Angelina Jolie's acting was OK, but not award winning. I did get a laugh though when half way through the movie she lost her accent only to have it return back later in the movie. And I am very confused as to what the point was with this nameless child they kept cutting to...I feel that was a waste of film. They could have used those pieces of film to show some of the families emotions to what was happening to Mr. Pearl. I definitely don't recommend viewing this film, not unless your looking to be put into a coma. Close this ReviewWAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes
