Read Morei went into the movie expecting more i think but wasn't left disappointed just felt like i could have skipped about 30 minutes of the movie and still got the same enjoyment out of it. i wanted to know how he lived more than what forced him to die really and was let down that it was just tragedy until the end. all in all a good movie but very drawn out and bleak. I believe the actor from "24 Hour Party People" would have been the better choice. He seemed to capture Ian Curtis' essence by just comparing file footage and his performance. He seemed to capture Ian Curtis' essence by just comparing file footage and his performance. Other than that small gripe the movie is exceptional. Very good movie, music is great too. Plan on getting the book to read more about Ian Curtis and his music. Never heard of Joy Division...........a must see!!!!! WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes

Wow, talk about a DEPRESSER. I was HOPING to see more things with THE BAND, to see more in depth about the songs and significant things Joy Division did, but it just made Ian look like an idiot had the guts to cheat on the women he loved, but didn't have balls to be true to either one of them. The movie was shot well and there were some really good performers involved, I just think if they could've included more band stuff it would've been easier to swallow. I thought this movie was great. Loved the black and white and the fact that it was filmed in the actual house/area that they lived and worked in. The actors were all very good. Very well done. WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes
