Roller Boogie (1979) Reviews

Roller Boogie (1979)
Member Rating:
This lively film was made to cash in on the roller skating craze that swept Southern California in the late '70s. The story centers upon a poor-little-rich-girl runaway who heads for the Venice boardwalk to join the other hipsters on wheels. She and her new friends then team up to keep an avaricious developer from razing the local roller rink and putting a shopping mall in its stead. ~ Sandra Brennan, Rovi

Yes, I agree with one of the previous reviewers. this is indeed so bad it's good. If you go into it with that expectation, it's prety enjoyable romp through the late 70's/early 80's. Enjoy the hair, the clothes, and the bad acting!

This movie is soo bad that it is good! I bought a copy just to watch when life gets dull. the acting is horrid...making it sooo very good!

This is another movie I would have never known about had I not had older step-sister's. It's your typical 70's roller skating with 70's music. It's not for everyone but some may enjoy it.

Loved this terrible movie! My favorite line was when someone asked Linda Blair how long she had been skating and she innocently replies "Three weeks." Yeah right! The crash test dummy guy really can skate well. A must see for any camp aficionado!

I like this movie because I grew up in Santa Monica and as a kid and saw alot of this movie being film. It is a nice wholesome film that I would let my kids watch. It is fun entertainment.

I loved it!!.. I don't agree much with the other people.. they got to remember the early 80's... movies back then were not like to today... they cannot cut and past the editing.. so off course acting looks poor, but compared to the other movies in that time.. this one was great... very teen appropriate... if you like Xudadoo, and Staying Alive. you will enjoy this one.

I have to agree with all the member reviews, it's so bad it's good for it's time in the 70's - "Oh, glorious times" -- the hair, the clothes, disco music and the beach - it was Heaven at that time to be young. A fun movie to watch & be young again for a while.
