This movie was a waste of film when I first saw it in a theater. I'm ashamed to admit I even paid what I did to see it then. Somebody's scraping the bottom of the barrel to put this on DVD. The plot was a joke, the actors "wooden", and the dialogue grates on your nerves worse than fingernails on a chalkboard. As a matter of fact, everybody in the theater moaned and groaned aloud throughout most of the film; it was that..."hoaky" is the only thing I can come up with. This can't even be considered B-list...unless "B" stands for bad, boring, and banal.

15 minutes of graphically outdated Mech combat don't make up for how bad this movie is. I got it because my son is a big Mecha fan, but even he thought it was horrible.

This is a "B" grade sci-fi movie. Don't expect blockbuster production values or FX. Robot Jox is one of my favorite low-budget films from the 1980's. A Charles Band (Full Moon Pictures) production, so you should expect a very large "campy" element. Much like the Trancer series, the Puppet Master series and the Demonic Toys series, these films take pride in their Roger Coman-esque quirkiness and Ray Harryhausen-like stop motion FX. There are two other films in this low budget giant robot series from the Brothers Band : Robot Wars (the "sequel" to Robot Jox) and Crash & Burn (an unrelated storyline with a some thematic similarities (i.e., giant robots). These Full Moon productions will ever be confused for "A" list productions, but their off-beat nature and reliance on arcane FX methods will strike a chord with some viewers.

I thought the idea was good, but poor execution and acting throughout the movie. It could have had so much more potential.

Worst SciFi/Techno movie I have seen since Jane Fonda in Barbrarella. I would rather have dental work than sit through this movie.
