Perfect casting with great acting, visuals, costumes, action, love story, it has it all. I wish there could have been a sequel because this movie was so much fun to watch. Read More Until I see somthing better, this is the best Robin Hood film out. It had a good story that well explained how this guy gained his skills and became this bandit leader. It shows more of a tactitician/ guerilla warfare style of Robin Hood than a straght thief. This movie shows not only a single man, but a whole community struggling to stay afloat in the midst of corrupt government forces. It's good family entertainment, something the parent and kids should be able to enjoy together. That in itself makes it rare in our times, especially for a non-animated movie. Read More First of all, I know this will get me a few unhelpful votes, but I have to get this off my chest. This is the first DVD I have ever seen, that requires you to turn the disc over to watch the 2nd half of the movie. This movie was no longer than 160 minutes and I have watched plenty of 2 hour plus movies, and TV sets, which last up to 3+ hours per disc. For the life of me, I don't know why the production company decided to split up this movie.
I can only remember Laser Disc movies doing this, of which I am also a collector, so I would think that my knowledge of this format is what made me realize what the problem was, as quickly as I did.
Now, the movie: Phenomenal, understated, and absolutely breathtaking cinematography. Kevin Costner does the worst British accent I've ever heard (Hello, Madonna!), but that is beside the point. I think he does a wonderful rendition. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No | ||

Morgan Freeman and Kevin Costner made a great pair in this movie. The story lines and art work are amazing for it's time. Alan Rickman played a great Sheriff. This is an amazing movie, if you have not seen it, you need to go out and get it. Such a great movie that you can watch with your family. But if you're kids are still little, I wouldn't let them watch. A lot of blood scenes in this. I definitely recommend you take the time and watch this movie. Read More Although this is one of my favorite movies, we got the DVD and it only played to the 17th chapter.. Needless to say, I was very disappointed when the movie abruptly stopped and we could not view the remaining part of the movie.. If this was a partial movie on multiple disk, Blockbuster should have noted that prior to the order being sent out..
