I've always loved this movie--drawn from the early lives of Ingmar Bergman's parents. It depicts their courtship, their conflicts, their difficulties in a Northern Sweden parsonage, and their sharply contrasting families. I own a cherished VHS tape of "Best Intentions" that I watch at least once a year. Now I wish the film were available for purchase on DVD and hope that Blockbuster will eventually offer for online rental ALL the Bergman movies that are now listed under his name on the website!
