Read MoreIf your looking for extreme fighting throughout the whole film then this film is not for you. I don't know why people are comparing this movie to Jet Li and House of Flying Daggers. This movie is nothing like them. This movie has a STORY and this story is original and well thought out. Of course there is fighting but it's the story and revelations that keep you wanting for more. Gong Li is indeed a terrific actress and first timer Jay Chou did a wonderful job. Chow Yun-Fat was also one to keep you wanting for more. I recommend this movie 10000000%! I didn't know renting the movie we would have to attempt to keep up with the subtitles the entire film. Don't get me wrong, I love to read, but I didn't think from the action shown in the small clip we get to see, that I would have to read all that was going on, for the entire movie. The only thing that I liked about this movie was the ending with all the soldiers and assassins fighting. There is great artwork and the scenes are amazing. Such amazing clothes and the palace was amazing. If you like these types of films, then I definitely recommend it. If you don't , then don't waste your time watching it. WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes

His faith in his formula is so insurmountable that he keeps using it to cut all his "cookies" year after year. And to keep the gullible audience coming back time and time again, the budget for his movies is getting bigger and bigger.
This film was in extreme excess of all things - the acting, the richness of brilliant colors, the rampant out-of-control emotions, the ample jiggly breasts, extravagant costumes, and the huge army of extras. yet it left me empty at the end wondering why I went to see it in the first place. It must have been my brand name loyalty and the masterfully edited commercial on TV.
