Read More Just because I can't say it enough, this is the best Marvel movie by far. This is mainly because of Robert Downey Jr. You couldn't find a better Tony Stark even if you wanted to. The only flaw I found is that it differs from the comic book, which may disappoint hardcore fans, but personally, I liked the new story better. This is a must see and a must buy when it comes out on DVD.

36 out of 42 people found this review helpful Having never read the comic books, I had no real expectations for this film. The actors were outstanding, and the script was quite interesting and funny. There was just the right amount of humor as well as drama to counterbalance one another. And I was VERY happy that there were no overly sappy lovey-dovey moments to interrupt the flow of the movie or bog it down. Overall, I was very pleased with the quality of every aspect of this movie and highly recommend it.WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No | ||

Read More I love action films (especially Asian martial arts) and comic book films, so this review is coming from someone who has high expectations going in. This was as good as any of the newer Batman films and the Spiderman franchise. I really enjoyed seeing Tony Stark use his brain and genious to invent his "suit" of extraordinary powers out of necessity. All points fell into place without self-pitying characters to bog it down. The only disappointment I have is the chemistry between Robert Downey, Jr. and Gwyneth Paltrow. I just didn't feel it, I will have to watch it again and see if I change my mind on that small point. It's the foundation for part two. This is all just a set up for the next movie, just like the first fantastic 4 was. I am sure part two will be much better. There was a lot of talking and very little action for the 2 hour movie. I made the mistake of bringing my kids. They were completely lost. About 15 minutes into the movie, my young one (7) ask me if the movie started yet. Robert Downey is one of my favorite actors and I'm glad he's back! He did a great job.
