This movie has some of my favorite actors but this movie disappoints a great deal. The problem wasn't the singing it was the poorly written songs and the unessary gore. WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes

If you like Johnny Depp don't miss this one. He is so fun to watch. Very different kind of flick, but great. Pretty bloody, but Depp pulls it off so well! He can sing too! WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes

But Helen Carter and Johnny did an amazing job... what talent they possess!!! And the song by the young blond girl playing his daughter was just downright amazing!!! I want to see the musical. I found it to be stupid and just plain gorey. I'm not a fan of musicals but I thought if anyone could pull off a musical Johnny Depp could. I was wrong! This movie was just plain bad, bad, bad! I couldn't finish it as I found all the violence in it to be quite disturbing. I am a big fan of horror movies but couldn't stomach this one. Definitely not a movie for children. This movie is not worth the time it takes to watch it. Save yourself and rent another. Definitely was not Johnny Depp at his best. I was very dissapointed!!!! No Stars for this one! Read MoreI wanted to love Sweeney Todd. After all, it had Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter, Alan Rickman - all interesting and complex actors. It was directed by Tim Burton, whose visual style is imaginative and dark, wonderfully fitting the story line. But, I found myself yawning over most of the film. The plot dragged along through the first half at least; the songs, although well crafted, were uninspiring; and the opportunities for dark humor were squandered with too heavy a touch.
