Some of us are "die hard" Star Wars fans and others just casual viewers. The movie has a great storyline and connects with anyone who has been truly passionate about something. The character of Hutch was the only entertaining part of this film, well acted and funny, but the rest of the characters and cast were just going through the motions. I enjoyed the cameo by William Shatner, but gawd, what a complete waste of the great Seth Rogen, so sad.
The scenes at the Skywalker Ranch were awful, and after waiting 90 minutes, we don't even get to see the real George Lucas. The cancer subplot was poorly developed and executed, and the "love story" was completely unbelievable.
If you're into Star Wars, it is probably worth one viewing, but I don't think that you're going to enjoy it very much. To its credit, the film contains lots of mildly funny references back to dialogue and scenes from the first three SW films, and I have to admit that the "Trek vs. Wars" angle was interesting, but the "Blue Harvest" spoof of Ep. 4 by the Family Guy crew was much funnier. It was funny and any Star Wars fan will love it. Some interesting appearances by several well known people was cool too. People who don't like Star Wars probably won't like this movie too much. Read More This movie was a joy to watch from the beginning to the end. I am usually not a "buddy" movie fan, but this one grabbed my attention from the beginning to the end. The surprise cameos along with the interesting dialogue made me want to sit through it and not miss a single word. Read More John G, this movie hasn't even come out in theaters yet and has not been released to DVD, so it is not Blockbuster's fault that they don't have it. The movie was re-shot to remove the main storyline, and many people protested so they reedited it to include the cancer plot.
