I don't know why they can't make this into a good movie, the first one got all the story of their fighting out of the way. All they had to do was find a cool way to have them fighting and they ruined it. Don't ever watch this movie. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

Read More A disgrace to all of the Alien and Predator movies that came before this one. 1) There were too many dumb people running around, PAINFULLY clueless as to what was going on around them. 2) Not NEARLY enough action between the Aliens and the Predator. 3) Nothing was mentioned about the girl who survived at the end of AVP 1. Where did she go? 4) Predator had stopped killing people in AVP 1. What happened to that idea? 5) The whole alien-popping-out-of-the-chest thing appeared about a dozen or more times in this movie. After appearing in five other Alien movies (AVP 1 included) is nothing new, nothing shocking, and certainly nothing exciting. 6) I've seen that last 20 minutes before somewhere... oh right, Resident Evil 2. 7) The Alien/Predator hybrid SHOULD have been the most ass-kicking character in the movie, and it wasn't! In closing, save the $9 or $10 that you would spend on a movie ticket to see this movie and maybe rent it when it comes out on DVD. Maybe. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

Silly Plot, ho-hum acting, Extremely dark and grainy Photography. What was the studio thinking allowing a low-budget Alien out of the gates? All the previous in the franchise are big budget flicks. This heap of garbage makes AVP look like a cinematic masterpiece!!
This Flick starts where AVP left off. Since AVP is set in the future after Ripley's time (remember even the first Alien was set in the future) you would think the film makers would of realized an Alien flick on modern day earth didn't fit in the timeline. If they meant to change the timeline, they should of gave us a backstory. Plot is seriously missing many key elements that makes the other films work. For Example: The lack of a Protaginst hero.......all previous films made use of. Here, we have several hereos, and don't really get to know or care about any of them.
I hope this doesn't kill the franchise for Alien Fans. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

Read More The pred in this film was true to the preds of the earlier films, unlike the preds in the previous AvP, which were bulked up and given larger weapons--bigger isn't always better. I found the storyline was very easy to follow, as events begin in AvP-R where the last AvP ended. The sfx were fantastic--loved the dual shoulder-cannon action. On the other hand, certain things disappoint (if you've seen it, you'll understand what I mean when I say predators tend to have better aim). As for there being a "pack" or group of preds doing cleanup, preds don't work that way. The "pack" in the first film were, essentially, teenagers going out on their "initiation into manhood" hunt--aka blooding. That wasn't the case with this film; one established hunter working alone would be less conspicuous than a group of hormone-driven teenagers fighting over kills. All in all, it was a cool flick. Could have been better, but could have been far worse. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

Read More AVPR had its ups and downs. i missed not seeing any well established actors, or at least heartfelt performaces. I feel that these actors and acrtresses may have become involved in the movie for the wrong reasons. I have been a fan of both series since i have seen them, and feel that they should have done a bit better with the characters. They seemed cold and flat at points, and i didnt feel any connection to them like i have with all the other movies. there were some great ideas that i totally loved, but others i didnt. i will buy it the day it comes out, because i am a fan of the creatures. Much more fast paced, intense, and is a lot more focused on the rivalry between the Aliens & the Predator. Or should I say PredAlien, Aliens & Predator. For anyone wanting to see action between the 2 species, you will be satisfied. For anyone wanting to see more violence from the last movie, you will be satisfied.
This film was done more in the respects of the creatures than the humans, and that I liked. The Brothers Strause (directors) were big fans of Aliens (the movie) as kids and tried to really almost make it a tribute. I'd just say they did a good job in their own respects, seeing as how it's many years later and film-making has changed so.
The only so-so I had about AvP2 was the end, which was left unknown in my opinion, and I think also to leave the viewer wondering and wanting more. Of course, it did for me. Hopefully another will be made. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No |
