One person complained that the movie was no comparison ... Read More This play was great. I am a fan of Tyler Perry, and this play is similar to how he does his plays. I read a few of the reviews already written. One person complained that the movie was no comparison to the book. No movie will ever compare to the book, it i impossible to cover everything. Sure, the plot was supposed to be somewhat humorous-- gigilo meets woman who steals his heart. I could not stop fast forwarding through the signing and the music. This was a MUSICAL PLAY, and I guess I was not ready for that type of movie. THis was certainly a free rental. I tried but I couldn't get into the buffoonery. Poor Billy Dee, one of the true icons, reduced to this. As for Darius McCrary, not bad on the eyes at all. But I couldn't erase from my mind those Internet rumors about him either. If you have absolutely nothing else to do, then take a look at this movie. I don't recommend it though. Read More This play was really bad. The acting was bad, Billy D. looked old and tired, the jokes were mediocre, and the stage set-up was on par with an elementary school play. The story was lame, and I expected more acting skills from Darius if no one else. Michael Baisden didn't even bother showing his face before, during, or after this play - I guess because he realized how sorry it was. Tyler Perry and David E. Talbert he could never be.
