Do yourself a big favor and turn the audio to Korean and use subtitles. The voice talents in the dubbed version were comedic at best and very distracting...going way against the mood of the movie. The story line really focuses on family loyalties and there is a large amount of political commentary (illustrating how pervasive western/U.S. influence is in Korean affairs). It's a bizarre hybrid of genres like monster horror/action film and family melodrama with some comedy and social commentary mixed in there. You have to have an off-beat sense of humor and perspective to like this movie....Godzilla buffs may like this movie, as would anyone who appreciated the movie Ticks. I personally loved it. He apologizes to everyone of his friends whose face did not show or clips that were cut. Hideous Script, Dialoge & Story. Only redeeming factor was the Monster. The Fishermen comment that it has so many tails. The big monster had 1 tail. If this were caught in America, They keep it and report it to authorities. Ex; the Snake Headed Fish. Also, there would have been many more then just 1 monster. The dyed Orange/Blond hair guy reminded me of my nephew (FUNNY). It was histerical when the Family gathered around dead Niece picture and started fighting all over the Floor like idiots. The Flying Drop Kick was awsome. I don't know where all of these 5 star reviewers came from.
If you watch it as a bad comedy then you will enjoy it for 15 to 20 minutes.
What a pathetic excuse for 2 hours.
I gave it 1/2 a star because the monster was pretty cool looking.
