Read More I appreciated this movie more now than when I saw it when it first came out at the theaters. It does give you a slice of history - both of the times and of many people. I also enjoyed the DVD extras with interviews with Warren Beatty about the movie. I recommend watching this film again. I also think Diane Keaton gave a great performance. Read More First of all, when I requested this movie, I expected to see the ENTIRE movie once I received it. I DIDN'T KNOW IT WAS A TWO-DISC MOVIE and afterwards I noticed the envelope indicated disc one of one. Why weren't both parts included in the envelope. Even though the movie started off slow, right when I was getting interested in it, it ended for "intermission". LOL If anyone decides to check it out, be sure you receive two discs. Read More Im not even sure what genre to put this movie in. It was all chopped up with real life characters making comments about this and that and completely detracted from the movie experience. Not that there was a large amount to detract from. The acting was solid, headed by fairly disturbing romantic relationship between Beatty&Keaton. I couldnt believe the power house of actors in this movie but for me it was just a distraction more then a positive. It was WAY too long. I'm only giving it 3 stars because the acting is superb by everyone, but honestly the story is ridiculous (and I was astonished to learn that it's based on a true story!). I don't know anyone that would be so obsessed that they'd completely give up his/her entire life for a cause. The best part was watching the special features. If you are compelled to rent this, then my suggestion is to rent it at the store, not thru your online subscription because you'll likely want to return it the same day. Read More Would have liked to watch 'Reds' but blu-ray disc came with huge scratch on it and would not play, so had to return it. I returned it to a store and used a voucher to get a PS3 game which also turned out to be damaged. Phoned BB online and of course gave up agter a 20 minute hold listening to garbage - my total access became zero access! Store were helpful and credited me for broken game, am still waiting for online replacement - no record of disc being damaged, but they asked me to review it so mentioned it here.
