I found this film to be one of the best of the year and was shocked it was not nominated for a Grammy. Ang Lee's masterful, subtle direction is at it's best for this intense slow-cooker piece. It is visually beautiful and full of nuance and incredible emotional intensity and tension that had me on the edge of my seat the whole time. It's a spy story but not an action film, but it does have rather a lot of graphic sex, which I thought portrayed incredible, relevant acting. If you liked Brokeback Mountain's direction, if you are interested in China or the history of Japan's invasion of it during WWII, or if appreciate the emotial complexity of sex and the hights and lows it can take us to, you may love this film.

One of And Lee's best. Very subtle but Great Hitchcock blow your mind ending. subtitled a minus but still great and 5X better than brokeback.
