An incredible performance by Marion Cotillard makes this story of Edith Piaf's life an amazing tableau. What she overcame to become the number one entertainment personality in France is astounding. Her unique voice has been captured faithfully and replicated skillfully. A truly great movie!

I thought the actress performed beautifully and was able to capture the look and personna of Edith Piaf and her tragic life. The film did jump around a lot was hard to follow at times, especially with darkened scenery and subtitles. For historical reasons it was a worthwhile film for me since I knew little of her life. It s another example of a talented person who is corrupt and unlovable receiving worship and adoration simply for a gift they have. A sad commentary on human nature.

This is a must see! Great songs even I have no clue about French! Beautifully acted! But I don't like the director keep jumping the timeline, I got very confused about what happen in chronological order! So I went online to google Edith Piaf! After I understand the timeline abit better, I realized how good this movie was!

I am not sure why I initially rented this movie except that I like foreign films. Poor Edith Piaf - what a tragic life. This movie would have been better if it didn't skip from era to era and back again. Hard to keep up with and harder to keep an emotion connection. Lead actress - awesome. Too long.
