With the current introduction of actors and ... Read More The movie 1408 in my viewing of the dvd movie had somewhat of an intense feauture. After watching 1408 I realized it seem to be a remake of the Shinging. With the current introduction of actors and actreeses in the decription, wasn't the down fall. It was the names in the movies of the currennt actors that promoted this features. Over all it ended up being the same old blah, blah remake of the original Shinging. Summary: I was some what disappointed. For a rating I would say 3 Stars.

But upon reflection there were some things missing that would have made this an interesting movie. Maybe I missed it.
But why was room 1408 "evil". What was the basis to the things that happened in the room.
It almost seems like the main character actual was able to face his own demons (versus being haunted by them) and grow as a person and come to terms with the tradegies that now defined his life. But the movie didn't exlore these themes and I don't think meant to invoke these thoughts. Esp considering where the character ends up at the end of the movie. Read More My wife and I were all set to watch some kind of horror film. When he finally got to the room, after all the build up, we were at the edge of our seats ready to be scared. However, after a few quick-startling moments, the movie quickly turned laughable. I probably would have given fewer stars for the rating, but I actually like Cusak and Jackson. Read More John Cusack is an amazing actor and his character is really well done but the movie didnât really do it for me. There was no atmosphere in the movie and all the other characters seemed flat. The movie tries to be creepy with lots of pop up scares but it fails pretty miserably. Its almost like they changed the ending at the last minute or they want to confuse the audience. I almost think that they had two endings and they chose the bad one.
