Read More I really enjoyed this film, John Cusack does a more then adequate job in the staring role. The movie has several jump out of your seat scenes that keep you on edge from beginning to end. I thought that Samuel Jackson would have a larger role then he actually does in the film so that was a bit disappointing. I am never staying in room 1408 of any hotel. :) Overrall well worth the price of admission and a nice way to burn a couple of hours especially around Holloween. Read More My wife and I loved this movie, I could easily watch it again and enjoy it, even though I never like to see movies a second time. (i.e. I don't collect DVDs) It's not really a "horror" movie, more of a psychological thriller, and very exciting. Those who complain of it ending with a "dream" sequence are wrong; it's all just a part of Room 1408. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

Read More This movie looked interesting in the trailers but after the first 20 minutes it all went downhill. Strange things begin to happen and by strange I mean strangely stupid not scary. At times it was just plain silly. If you like scary horror movies do not watch this movie, you will be disappointed as I was. Some things that happen in the movie are so ridiculous you can't believe someone would write such nonsence into a potentially good movie. I too got angry during the movie because it was so stupid! As others have posted the ending is the only good thing about this movie and part of that is because the silly movie has finally ended. Rent something else. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? This movie scared the crap out of me and actually had me waking to every creak and bump in the night. There were several parts that gave me goosebumps or where I had covered my eyes partially. I haven't done that since I was a kid! John Cusack was awesome, great character and had me on the edge of my seat. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

This film is a great example of his ability to really convince you that what you are watching is real. The suspense is delicately weaved by cutting in and out of dream sequences, that take you by surprise, they seem credible. The ability toscare people without actually showing much that's scary is a true art. A good film for those who like horror. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

Even my 12yo daughter became bored. The movie could have had the audience much more on edge had they cut the last 10 min of hotel room stuff. Man, how anticlimactic.
