Read More Movie starts off with a great idea. Pretend the draft came back and show three buddies from new york get their draft notices in the mail and have 30 days to report. Then show all three lives in this 30 day period-- on film. It is a good idea. But the film blunders in showing this. First off it moves at a snails pace.Second the movie moves at a snails pace. Did I mention the SLOWNESS of the picture yet?Anyway you lose track of whats going on it moves so painstakingingly slowly without any deliberate dramatic scenes to keep your interest.The characters are semi -interesting personalies but they do nothing to keep your interest. This is a movie with good idea-just POOR EXECUTION. The acting is just so-so along with a poor script... And the ending is SO BAD that you wonder whether they just ran out of money to film a proper justified ending? Uh, I just CAN NOT recommend this movie as a "must see" at all. The acting was very good also. I truly felt the characters dilemna. I am a 64 yr old former Marine who enlisted or would have been drafted. Read More This movie was very insightful into the lives of three totally different characters who just happens to be good friends. It's quite a scary feeling knowing that you are going off to war, because the government has reinstated the draft. The ways that these boys handle the news in their own way was very interesting. We would highly recommend this movie to the twenty-something crowd and their parents, especially in these days that we are living in....The ending of this movie had really surprised us. Read More This Movie was very down to earth gave three different perspectives of the pressure's facing three young guys as they find out there being drafted. It gave the watcher the story as we have yet to face it in our generation and thats worth getting to see life and death and having that simple choice to continue your exsistance as you perscribe or as the government perscribes scary choices and I thought it was very good in the simple ability to keep it real. Do not under any conditions get this movie unless you can stomach the scent of old garbage for the next two hours. THis offensive movie stinks plain and simple!!!! Read More I think this movie is a great drama and possibly our future if we do not get someone into the White House who knows how to run a country! It is a character study, so it does move slowly. But it is an excellent look at the reactions and lives of three men who have just been told they have to go to war. Something anyone today can relate to, some funny lines, really liked this movie.
