This movie is enchanting. Now, if you like explosions, car chases, buckets of blood and gore, gratuitous nudity and bathroom humor, you'll HATE it. But, if you're looking for something a little different, quicky, charming, clever, bittersweet, and romantic - all shot on the streets of glorious Paris - you'll have a really enjoyable time. Is it the best film ever made? No. Is it the best film of the year? No. Is it the best film I've seen this month? Yes, indeed! Pour yourself a glass of merlot and relax into it. It's worth it!

the format for Paris Je T'aime is like a shorts film fest about love in Paris in different perspectives made by different directors. as i shared this fondness with friend R, we both agreed that a couple of shorts would've been good if they made it a little longer. ex: the first one with the lady who fainted. though in the end you see them dating, its just nice to know what happened in between. that short also where natalie portman is, it was nice to know more about her love story with the blind guy. the other shorts were either hilarious, or out of the ordinary, or extra cheesy.

I saw this film in a little vintage theatre and went alone. It was a delightful compliation of vinettes that made me want to go back to Paris. I especially loved the short about the acting couple and the woman who was visiting. Paris is magical and when you are there you realize that there are so many types of people at diffenent stages of their life seieing Paris in a different way and if you can appriciate that you can appriciate this film. Just sit back and absorb.

This experimental movie worked well for its first attempt. Although each story didn't have enough time to thoroughly develop, there was still substance in scene. Each director did a sincerely decent job with the allotted time. Telling a story in 5 minutes is not an easy job, but the directors were able to pull it off. For Francophiles, you'll appreciate every aspect of the movie because it is filmed with the utmost respect for the city as well as the people. For avid movie watchers, this is not your typical movie. If you're not accustomed to "5-minute stories", then this is not for you. As for the artists, you may appreciate each director's depiction of daily life in beautiful Paris. There's always a freshness in each scene that cannot be ignored. I give this movie a 3 1/2 stars rating for its courageous endeavor.

This was such a refreshing twist on movie making. If you don't like indie or artsy or 'different' type concepts (or subtitles), watch a typical commercial big studio film because you will be disappointed. But if you like eclectic movies with depth, this movie will be perfect. A few of the stories were a little wierd, but I enjoyed the bulk of them. It's a look at life and love in all it's different types and stages, all set in Paris...it's lovely!

This was apparently some sort of experimental movie where the directors had about 5 minutes to show some of a person's life. Some of the films weren't very good; the first one with a man who is losing in love was a waste. But on the other hand there was a piece with Gena Rowlands where a couple was emotionally making their divorce, which was touching. If you want a movie that is going to fully develop or explore a relationship, this is not for you.

Couldn't even finish watching. If Paris is really like this, I never want to go there. The short "mini movies" are all melodrama and absolutely no suspense. You can't relate to the characters because you aren't given personality, only conflict. If you enjoy quality story lines and characters, don't ever watch this movie.

This was such a sorry picture, the fact that someone thought this was a good idea shows you why studio execs are only as good as their last picture. What a letdown. Struggled to get through this maze of unrelated stories that have no similarity other than they were shot in Paris and somehow talked themselves into this compilation. For a similar idea that actually worked-try NEW YORK STORIES, but these were all too short and all too lousy to hold my attention--POST SCRIPT-I watched it in French, I speak french, and it needed more than subtitles to make it work-probably something more like Absynthe
