the film is good, really good for what it is. Movies with premises like this definatly werent made back then. and to see so many actors who would go on and mke a name for themselves, it almost seems ... But what id really like to see is them make a remake of this movie wwith the special effects we have now. it couldve added to the realism that is the one area where this movie fell short. which is funny cuz i give it major kudos for realism. anyway. great movie. I found it is highly unlikely that a half dozen adolescents could pull off the commando type military engagements they playout in the movie. Also there was no explanation for why the Cubans turned out to be the good guys and the Russians (Reds) the bad guys. I didn't find this objectionable, just odd. Lookijng back though I would say that we as a nation were niave to believe that a thing such as what is depicted in this movie could happen. I am glad that I saw this one again to remind me of how much better actors the stars in this film have become since. I will say with out a doubt that this movie sucks. I just recently watched this film on a plane ride back from Mexico, it was alright. not a girl movie but then again my husband rented it. Better than the crap they play on the plane. WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes
