Read More The FX and action are awesome - for the few times they occur. I've always loved the premise of Night Watch and Day Watch - especially the supernatural realm of the 'gloom' - but God help me, I simply cannot stay awake during the slooooooow parts. This is one of those films that should be great, but just isnt - simply because the pace is sluggish and disjointed. Read More They should have called this "The DONT Watch". I have never written a review on a movie before...and Iâve seen plenty of bad movies, but this one takes the cake. I'll never get that 2 hours of my life back...so hopefully, I can save someone else the pain. You'll need to take some Ritalin to make yourself sit through it. It was like the director has A.D.H.D! Don't believe those who have generously donated a good review. I think they would find that watching a flashlight darting around on a wall entertaining (if you have a cat or dog, you know what I mean). Donât watchâ¦Please! Maybe it's mandatory to watch the first installment.
Couldn't tell how the goal of the movie (finding a magical piece of chalk) related to Day Watchers and Night Watchers.
Didn't understand how the main characters son was to be aligned with the "bad guys".
Movie was terribly choppy and had awful and abrupt context switches.

After 1 hour and 20 minutes I couldn't take it anymore, I tried but couldn't do it. I should have figured the whole movie was going to be bad when it started off with horses running through brick walls. Give me a break. I never saw the first movie, didn't know there was a first movie. This is a Russian film that everything takes place in Russia, but that is about all I understood of the whole movie.
