This movie was decent. I am NOT a teacher, but I still enjoyed it and thought it was funny. Not slapstick funny, just everyday funny. I thought the actng and dialog were very good. If I WERE a teacher, I bet it would have probably been my favorite movie of all time! That being said, it is probably not for everyone, so I personally would recommend it if you're looking for funny with a deeper meaning.

I'm one of those teachers that quit within the first three years of teaching. I thought I would enjoy the humor and be inspired to go back. This was not the case. It was depressing and it made me realize why I left teaching. The lack of respect, overworked principals who can't take care of their own school. It's sad. I thought this movie was very depressing.

My girlfriend is a teacher and this movie was not in the least bit funny to either of us. I went from really liking Morgan Spurlock to the complete opposite. I will not support his ventures again. I don't like mock"you"mentaries and this really mocks teachers. People who find this funny are ignorant of the state of our public education system today.

I thought "Chalk" would be worth the viewing, given that I am a fan of mockumentaries. However, after sitting through 2 hours of pointless babble, I found it to be nothing more than a terrible, sophmoric attempt at a Christopher Guest movie. The plotlines were dreadful and the characters were as interesting as a bag of nails. Morgan Spurlock, stick to eating, buddy.

I am working towards my teaching certification, and I have subbed in classrooms a few times. The first time I saw this movie, it was a huge disappointment.... living in Austin, it was hyped up. However, my family rented the movie a few months later, and it was so much better! I don't know what made the difference, but I found it to be a pretty funny mockumentary, not like a laugh-out-loud-every-minute type thing, but it was entertaining.
