Cute and imaginative, though I found the parents to be somewhat overbearing and the kids a little "too smart." I like the fantasy genre; so I enjoyed the film despite the characters. WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes

My problem with this movie is that it relys strongly on Eastern Mysticism. It's not just some of the characters, but the whole story revolves around beliefs of the Buddhist religion. Read MoreI'd really only give this 3.5 if I could - but as we all know we can't do that here - and it's better than a 3 sooo: Reminisant of movies made in the seventies What I call soft-core Sci-fi along the lines of ET and First Encounters...noooooo not on quite that level - but certainly along the lines. Best performance here was by Rainn Wilson as the science teacher. I was entertained and charmed by this movie. Was nice to see Tim Hutton and Roger Waters does a great soundtrack. I like the story but the two kids annoy the crap out of me, especially the girl. But then most kids usually do. The best thing about the whole movie are the details. They do a great job of tying Mimzy in with Alice in Wonderland and Lewis Carroll. I liked the back story. WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes
