I thought this movie was great until they killed off one of the main characters, without so much as his own scene to do it in. The end was a complete let down. WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes

Crafted beautifully, No Country for Old Men tells a compelling story, and I had no problem identifying with the "hero". The bad guy is suitably bad, and devoid of moral, which is fine as long as its played right. It is. Then comes Mr Lee Jones, and he does his role fine. Problem is, hes barely used. It seems like hes getting into it, then he disapears for 40 min. Come on.
I blame the failure (in my eyes) of this film on the director, not the actors. They do all they can and more with their roles, its just the disjointed direction of the director that kills things. Overall I was very disapointed with the ending, though the pacing and run of the film were excellent. It litterally feels like they got to the end of the film and as they were planning on shooting the final 20 min, the director said "ok, thats a wrap!". Even the actors must have been like "HUH?!?"
