The Boondocks: Season 01 (2005) Reviews

Boondocks is so deep that you really have to be on a conscious level to appreciate these shows. The analogies that this author makes is outstanding and needs to be commended. Even though I am not fond of the use of the negative "N" word I see why and where he uses it to reenforce his message. I believe that this needs to be given another season and to succeed to the current conflicts of todays issues. Worth the time and effort to watch, and if you are able to block out the cursing then please do so, so that your children of age of any color may watch these shows.

I love the Boondocks. They are hillarious. I rented this series because I never got to see the actual series on Adult Swim. I was very impressed and it kept me laughing for hours. I watched them each over and over again. I did end up buying them as part of my collection. The Boondocks are definately for adult entertainment only due to some of the graphic nudity and obscene language. Don't let your children watch this. Some people may think The Boondocks are offensive and insulting, but it depends on different individuals.There were a few episode that were my absolute favorites such as "The R.Kelly Trial", "Health inspector goes to jail", and "Guess Ho's Coming to Dinner". If you like other cartoon series such as the simpsons, family guy, and south park. You will definately enjoy The Boondock. Warning: do not let other people borrow these dvds from you because you may never get them back. They are great and I highly recommend them.

I thought that the whole first season was very funny unsure if I would want my kids to watch this. As a parent you should probably watch the program 1st before you let your child view these disk. Again, I think the Boondocks was very entertaining.

This is a really good series of shows that teaches you lessons about life in general . I admit tht this show has ....many forms of cursing i dont recomend for a movie at grandmas house . But if you ever need a quick pickme up or a quick laugh i recomend this show.

The boondocks has been one of the most intelligent cartoons on Adult Swim for a long time. i was really disappointed when I found out that the end of the 2nd season would be the end of the show. these guys really deserve another chance to make us laugh, mostly laugh at ourselves, laugh about society, laugh about stereotypes, laugh about racial prejudice. usually it's a tough subject to tip-toe around, but through the eyes of Riley freedman, it seems like all the absurdity and outrageous scenes of grotesque bigotry is just a waste of time. I can only imagine what the writers of the show were thinking when they came up with this kooky idea. Social commentary on white suburbia from the eyes of a black family who just happens to be surrounded by some of the funniest controversy you could imagine in racially-charged situations. and yet, in the end, when you look past the mild foul language, there's a real positive message at the end of almost every episode. give it a chance!!

Parents! Know your child's "language". Now days its so hard to send a positive message and for the people to appreciate it along with some humor is what attracted me to the show. Technically we want our children to be aware in their environment, But reality "The Boondocks" is what they understand.
