I remember seeing this story featured on a CBS Sunday news or some show like that, back when she first realized the treasure she'd purchased for $50. What amazing, but not surprising, is the utter snobbery she encounters from the art world, who cannot imagine that such an artwork would be discarded by the artist and end up in a thrift store as junk, even when forensic science proves it! That leads to Horton's stubborn refusal to sell until it gets recognition. It's an interesting look at the snobbery of art collecting.

A great film on what's wrong with the "art-world" (and I am an artist), but also very interesting look into 2 worlds colliding. Just enough information on pollock to make it informative, and a good show on how someone who didn't know who the #*@ he was, came to appreciate what he did.

that the art world is full of scam artists and really bases the value of a work of art on perception vs. reality. Interesting story.
