Read More I've never written a movie review on here, but this had me laughing SO hard I had to stand up for it, considering there's obviously a few reviewers who didn't seem to get it. First of all, ignore any reviews that quote 12 yr old daughters because that is OBVIOUSLY not the demographic being targeted for this movie. I thought it was way better than Harold & K, in fact it's the best "stoner" movie I've seen. There is indeed a plot, and they even manage to put in a fairly witty political statement, but the real reason to watch this movie is the moment by moment crazieness Jane is put through. I will conceed this seems to be a movie you either love or just don't get. For those of you whose feet have never left the ground, I'd probably have to suggest passing on this. But if you've ever felt like you were riding a smiley face balloon, it's definitly worth a rental. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

However, it will be lost on most folks. It does not have a plot, so if you are shooting for that, grab a different movie. But if ya just wanna laugh at some chick that gets WAY too stoned...check it out. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

I love Anna Faris and John Krasinski so I thought this would be a sure thing. It was boring and annoying with her mumbling and aimless rambling throughout the entire thing. Nothing funny ever happened and I never even made it to the end, which is a big deal to me, because I'll sit through anything. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

Read More This is a movie that has such a piss poor plot that it makes you wanna cry. The WHOLE movie is about a girl who is so high that she just mumbles, bumbles and slogs thru the entire day in a stoned haze. You would THINK it may be funny or have some funny scenes, but it does NOT!!. The script and the dialog written for her (anna ferris)are BORING. Half the time she looks into the camera and says NOTHING..Thats funny???If you watch this movie, you FEEL your IQ dropping with each passing minute. My twelve year old said"that is the worst waste of $$ spent daddy"..Its ANOTHER HORRIBLE independent movie that was given the green light by "FIRSTLOOK STUDIOS". It should never have been made. I'm sure all the other majors turned this down due to the stupidity of the plot. This movie should be a half star but I'm giving it a full star because it was shot in color. Yes, that is how boring and unfunny this movie is. I sat down to watch it the first time and got bored very quickly. So I kept trying and trying and finally I finished. Why did I try and complete it? I don't know. There are absolutely no redeeming qualities to this movie. It sucked. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

Read More In one of the only female-driven stoner comedies ever made, Jane (Anna Faris) inadvertently ingests marijuana-laced cupcakes and embarks on a SoCal adventure that takes her from the back of a sausage truck to a hemp festival in Venice Beach and everywhere in between. Despite bit parts by a bunch of Hollywood's 20-something-emo-geek crowd (Danny Masterson, Adam Brody and John Krasinski), this somewhat lame film's only saving grace is the sheer hilarity of Anna's performance. After flexing her comic muscles in "Lost in Translation" and "Just Friends," Anna, in her first starring role, can literally make you howl with laughter just from the expressions on her face. "Smiley Face" manages to overstay its welcome even though it's less than 90 minutes long, but if Anna can pull off a performance like this with such mediocre material, it's exciting to imagine what she'd do as a true leading lady with a great script supporting her.
