Read More I seem to have enjoyed this a litle more than most of my friends here. I laughed much, loved the new characters and thought it a solid story taking this family I've been watching since they were only a 5 minute feature and years before they had their own tv show (so all in all close to 25 yrs now) and the writers brought them cleverly right in into the times we are in now - dealt with timely issues and those that span all times as well. Lisa gets a love interest and the rocked-out version of Spider Pig on the closing credits was the icing on the cake (or donut) for me This was fun. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? 20 out of 32 people found this review helpful Stephen D, first off, the baby's name is Maggie. Second off, he named the pig Harry Plopper, not Harry Pauper. Anyway, this was a good movie. About as good as I expected from a movie that should have been released about 12 or 13 years ago when the Simpsons were in their prime. One complaint with this movie is that with it's 8 (or so) writers, Conan O'Brien wasn't one of them. He wrote some of the best episodes of this show ever. Still, this was a good movie. Definitely worth a watch or two (maybe three). The story was definitely good, etc. etc..WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No | ||

Read More In the opening of the movie, Homer stands and says something to the effect of that we are suckers for paying to see the same thing they put on TV for free. I believe he nailed it! I am not a HUGE Simspsons fan, so, this movie didn't do much for me. I rented it and am glad I didnât plunk down $9.50 to watch. It is not a bad movie. Itâs just the usual Simpsons silliness. I was horrified when Marge said Throw the GD ..., the two male police officers kissing, Homer wanting to kiss the ... Read More I was not impressed with this. I think that this should've been made as PG not PG13. I was horrified when Marge said Throw the GD ..., the two male police officers kissing, Homer wanting to kiss the pig, Homer grabbing his crotch, Bart's nudity, all these things belong in South Park not The Simpsons!!!!!!! The movie moved so slow and was missing the magic of the tv series. The plot was good but lacked substance, just bad writing! I loved the opening of the film. I was glad to see Lisa find a boyfriend and Homer and Marge finally hit a skid in their marriage. I loved Grandpa Simpson in the church. The angry mob fire scene was amazing! I just hope that if their is a second movie that it will be more child friendly and capture the essence of the early Simpsons instead of the "new" Simpsons that feels it has to compete with the other shows!!
