Read More The stories, the characters, the richness of language make this one of the best series ever produced. The last disc, however, is a history lesson and behind the scenes video that should have been a special feature on a previous disc. Not having seen the series season finale, I had no idea it ended with disc 5 and felt ripped off to say the least. . Really raw and harsh, which I love, I watched this series for 3 years building to this huge show down between the forces of good and evil, or evil and evil and it was a huge let down. The ending went out like a wimper instead of a bang. I think the writers may have stayed true to the historic records instead of a dramtic ending, that is the only explanation I could come up with, Loved the series, hated the ending!!!!!!!!!! This show is spectacular, I love the characters -- but most of all I love the clear commitment to be raw and real -- no chance for cliche and melodrama.

Read More Great television series but obviously the third season is a a disappointment because HBO killed off the series and left everyone hanging. First they killed off Rome which the writers must have seen coming as they butchered the last few episodes to try to wrap everything up and then they killed off Deadwood. Obviously HBO has no interest in their viewership, so I killed my HBO subscription.
Loved the series, characters and writing were great. Highly recommend it but it's not for everyone and be prepared to feel like the show stops just when it should be entering it's second act. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No | ||
