21 out of 22 people found this review helpful This movie was excellent! As a Veteran of the Military, I was in "awe" since there wasn't a great deal of profanity. Bob Lee was truly a patriotic soul. His patriotism was taken for granted by the Government, the same people whom we are supposed to trust. I found this movie fascinating because this type of betrayal happens in real life with real people. I think people will relate to it with the current war that our husbands, fathers, sons, nephews, etc. are going through. One of my favorite scenes was on the mountain when he gave himself up. He even showed patriotism t hen. This movie depicted Mark Wahlberg as a loyal soldier, loyal friend to his buddy who died, and finally loyal to his own identity. Read More This very testosterone driven film with bullets flying everywhere and Mark Wahlberg taking no prisoners would not normally be my kind of movie - but ya know I really did enjoy this very exciting action film. Good performance by Wahlberg - Danny Glover and Ned Beatty were horrific colder hearted ol' boys both part of the darker side of the government and Wahlberg plays a Marine Sniper who they attempt to frame - but he comes back with a vengeance. This was fantastically shot in more than a half dozen locations . I enjoyed Kate Mara though her part was small and the very impressive direction by Antoine Fuqua. Read More Shooter was a film that I was mildly interested in seeing, after watching it I am now a fan. This movie feels like a major throwback to those great over-the-top action films of the 70s and 80s. Mark Wahlberg stands right up there with Clint Eastwood and Arnold Schwarzenegger as one of those great "no nonsense" film bad@$$es. That quiet, no small talk, kind of tough guy that we don't see much of any more. Shooter is great if you're into those kind of "shoot first, don't ask any questions later" movie heroes. A really fun shoot 'em up. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No | ||

Wahlberg maintains his typical "I'm cool" attitude while rubbing off as an arrogant son-of-a-b1tch and allowing the film's porous, chaotic plot to take care of the rest. Shooter utterly disgusted me. It is what it is. A corny "action" movie, where Danny Glover for some reason has a most annoying lisp.
In one scene, they are in Virginia I believe, the next, they are riding helicopters to what looks like a glacier in Alaska.
Not sure what Alaska had to do with anything. BUT have no fear, Marky Mark is prepared and somehow now has a full fledge snow camo outfit. Not sure where that came from either.
I guess when you are a shooter on the run, it helps to have a good wardrobe department. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No |
