This movie is the most gripping, real and heartbreaking movie I've seen regarding drug addiction and love. The movie starts out right away with these two beautiful people already in a world of oblivion. And it just goes down hill (their life) from there. Very powerful and moving story. Its amazing to see two people who love each other so much, go through this together. I was captivated from beginning to end. Great acting, great story, and not your typical happy ending, Made me appreciate my partner more. Great movie all around. Glad I watched it.

This movie reminded me of a cross between "Spun" and "Trainspotting" but without some of the comedy. This is a love story that happens to involve heroine. If you enjoy "artsy" movies that surround love, drugs, and the things a couple will endure for their addictions and eachother, then this movie would be great for you to watch. I loved it.

I thought this was a great role for Heath. The movie begins with the pleasures and thrills that come from the initiation into the world of drugs. It also shows that what initially binds a couple together can keep them together even through the most horrific means of supporting a drug addiction. For anyone who has had a drug addiction or been in love with someone who has, I believe this movie was an accurate portrayal.

Candy was one of the more real, gritty portraits painted beautifully and with a great sense of understanding of the habits of how it is to be an addict. The plot showed the depth of suffering attached to the painful lifestyle and shows the inevitable consequences of living such a life. Even without Heath, you will find the strength of plot would have been able to carry any actor. A definite must see.

I think most of the people that are saying this movie is just about a bunch of junkies that doesn't need to seen are the people that are blind to the fact that we have a drug problem in this country, and around the world. They think that by ignoring it, the problem goes away. When in fact, we NEED to show this movie to young people BEFORE they start getting offered drugs to give them an added incentive to say NO. We all know that kids don't listen to us, even the good ones will go off to college and start drinking, so what's to stop them from falling down the wrong path? This movie is a heart-breaking example of what drugs can do to even the best of kids, and should be required material that parents watch WITH their children. There is some nudity, which is uncomfortable to watch with your kids, but the good moral of the movie far outweighs any nudity that they can easily bring up on the computer or flipping through the cable stations.

Unlike similar movies dealing with drug addiction such as Spun and Trainspotting, I found myself more sympathetic towards the characters here. Solid performances by Abbie Cornish and Heath Ledger as well as by supporting actor Geoffrey Rush. Hard to watch and should be. Despite the fact that this film is about drug addiction - it remains a bitter-sweet romance. Heath Ledger shall be missed.
