I was expecting another Spiderwick Chronicles / Harry Potter style fairytale, but Bridge to Terabithia delivers so much more... Deep, engaging, and gritty, this movie was made to tell the truth about life and personal relationships without pulling any punches. It's about time someone made a family / kids fantasy story that doesn't pretend life is all about rainbows and butterflies - or that faeries can take away your troubles.

I was prepared for this to be more of a kid's movie and not so entertaining to adults, but it kept my attention throughout. The acting was decent and the plot good.

Even though this is a children's movie, it is still good to watch. I'd recommend it to others to watch.

While the movie tells a good story, it is partly a tragedy and not having read anything other than the official summary, I found myself trying to explain the death of a main child character to my 6 year old. I usually prewatch films, but after reading the description I was falsely reassured. I will not make that mistake again.
