We got it out at the store rather as a second thought because there wasn't much else. I though it was going to be another Bridge of Terabithia/Arther and the invisbles cheesy type fantasy movie. What we got was a vastly underrated, orginal, fast moving story. It has a kind of 'Narnia' feel about it. I'm very surprised that this did not make it big in the box office. De Niro and Pfeiffer were excellent as always, but the rest of the cast of virtual unknowns were excellent. Ricky Gervais also shows up in it and is hilarious as always. I really enjoyed this movie and so did my 10 year old daughter and my 75 year old father. It was really a great movie for the whole family.

Read MoreI understand that the books are usually better than the movie adaptations, but that said and not having read the book, I found the movie to be thoroughly enjoyable and not like anything I'd seen before. I've already recommended it to several people. It seemed like a cross between The Wizard of Oz and Princess Bride. I can see this becoming an instant classic for the whole family. I have never been much on the whole fanasy thing, but De Niro and Pfeiffer did great. I am not that big on Claire Danes so I could not get into her. Well worth a good rent.
