The movie was a good kids or family film to watch. DeNiro and Pfeiffer were good enough to add some humor to the storyline. In addition, the dialogue was good enough to keep my attention.

A magical, delightful, and amusing original fairy tale with a terrific cast. A must-see for fantasy-adventure enthusiasts!

Although *Stardust* was a surprising choice for Matthew Vaughn's sophomore directing effort (following his thrill-ride *Layer Cake*), it soars above its fantasy genre. The film, which performed below its quality at the box office, was very poorly marketed; its trailer fluffed it as the next fantasy quest epic instead of the delightfully quirky fairy tale (or perhaps I should say "faerie story") that it is--in the vein of VHS cult hit *The Princess Bride*. Although the film trims back some of Gaiman's characters, without exception the actors translate them beautifully, especially relative unknown Charlie Cox whose unflagging wonder makes Tristan's transformation to manhood beautiful to watch. Drawing its cue from Gaiman himself, *Stardust* lovingly plays with its genre, making fun new music with old melodies.

I was really looking forward to this movie, as I liked the concept. As a sci-fi fan, I had hoped for so much more from this film but instead it was very unbelievable. The idea that the main character runs off into this secret world only once is strange. The secret world itself is not much explored at all. Much of the film centers around witchcraft, with the characters all seemingly stuck on occult practices. The interplay between the Star and Tristan was sour at best. It was too much of a comedy to be advertised as a fantasy. And when Tristan (main character) develops his skills in the sword, you don't get to see him even use it against the stuck-up boyfriend of his first love (Victoria). Yes, I was really disappointed and almost stopped watching the DVD in the middle of it.

This Movie was NOT that good. I am one of the few reviewers that actually WATCHED the whole movie(not just the trailers)..The movie was way too slow moving(the storyline). There was no cohesion, and for a fantasy film, this is not good. The acting SAVED this movie from being a ONE STAR movie, based on the script and plot.PUT something else in your que, as this movie is a TWO STAR at BEST.
