It's a bit slow to get going, but it's full of adventure, romance, and comedy. I was laughing my head off when Robert DiNero enters the movie. He stole the show during his scenes! I do agree that this movie has much of the same feel to it as The Princess Bride, but take it for what it is. Don't expect too much from this B movie, and enjoy the show! The acting is really fine, Michelle Pfeifer is incredible.
A fun movie as a rental, and worth the time it will take to pop the popcorn. Close this ReviewWAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes

If this movie had been made years ago I might have watched it a 100 times instead of Labyrinth. I loved it and I supposed most kids would too. WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes

There is one thing funnier than seeing Gene Hackman dressing in drag in a Robin Williams movie, witnessing Robert DeNiro doing the same thing. Well worth the rent. WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes

A fun film - it's the old pros that SHINE in Stardust though - Pfeiffer and DeNiro are totally enjoyable. Personally for me, without their performances I would not have enjoyed this as much. The special effects and cinematography were enjoyable too. WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes

Read MoreThis movie was slow, boring, with brief humorous moments and a waste of Michelle Pfeiffer's and Robert DeNiro's talents. It's rare that my husband and I give up on a movie, but he couldn't take any more about 1/2 way through. I made it until almost the end and had to turn it off. I kept hoping it would get better, but it didn't. The special effects are good and acting is ok, but the plot becomes too ridiculous. It showed potential in the beginning scenes, but fell apart pretty quickly. The scene with DeNiro in drag was truly obnoxious. I had hoped for a classic like "Princess Bride", but this movie is not in the same league. And beware parents, the movie is rated PG 13 for good reason. There are a lot of violent killings. Most of the key scenes and even characters are drastically altered, much to their detriment. Many book to movie conversions go poorly, but all of the touching moments are drained and filled with pages from the dregs of the writer's pool. This is one of the WOSRT book based films I have ever seen. The novel is a wonderful blend of fantasy and fairytale and should not be missed, I wish I could say the same about the movie.
