This movie is very touching. The fact that most of the entire movie was not fabricated to hollywood standards but kept true to the original story was great. It was nicely done, and had its moments throughout the film. Unfortunately, I think people automatically presumed that it was over the top considering that it was McG that directed it. He did some great things in the movie, and it really showed that he could direct a heart warming film. I thought Matthew Fox was the best actor by far, and Anthony Mackie came in at a close 2nd. The direction was great, as evident of a standing ovation in a packed movie theatre in Columbus, Ohio. Some critics didn't like it, others loved it. I say, read the reviews of people like you and me, and then watch it and decide for youself. If you like uplifting movies that will definately make you cry, then rejoice, then this movie is definately for you.

This was a great movie and told the story of a very tragic event in a very professional way. While the impact of this tragedy on the community and college can not be truely known unless you lived through it - the movie does a good job of capturing the emotions of the events through the actors. A good movie that everyone should see.

My family really enjoyed the movie. The acting was superb and I enjoyed the spirit of the team and the people of Huntington, West Virginia. I am not a football fan now do I like long movies but this movie I enjoyed and 2 hours went really fast because the team and the townspeople went through the tragedy and still supported each other and the team. There were many high points in the movie about love, commitment and overcoming an unexpected tragedy with goodness and grace.

I didn't find this movie that much better than the bunch of inspirational sports movies out there. I can't bestow it with praise just because this movie is based on a true tragedy, as opposed to the usual discrimination, biggotry, or poverty the underdogs are usually fighting against in these types of movies. I can't believe people would cry through this movie. It places far too much importance on the football and not enough on the stories of grief. It's not horrible, it's just not great. If I hear one more dramatic score get higher in pitch during a dramatic scene I'll scream. Overall the movie is very formulaic.
