Read More I didn't think this movie would turn out nearly as awesome as it did. I went to Marshall only 2 1/2 years after the plane crash, and was dating one of the "young" Thundering Herd. My cousin was at Marshall the year the tragedy struck. Marshall truly stood by their football team, and although so many games were lost after the tragedy, the stadium was nearly always full. The cast did a great job on portraying the spirit of Marshall, the effect it had on on everyone from staff, to the team, to the people left behind, to the new people who came on board after 1970. Truly an admirable portrayal of why the team was rebuilt, how the University survived, and what a wonderful athletic department we had. The cast was excellent and thank you. We are Marshall!!!!! The generations of 2day probably don't even know about it, and they should. Matt McConaughey was great! You'll cry in quite a few spots, but a very well told movie about a huge tragedy. Read More The movies that are out today are stupid, and have no real meaning. I watched this movie with my 15 year old and my 9 year old sons, they loved it, it was a tragedy, but how these core people chose to handle that tragedy, truly honored those who parished. A wonerfully put together story with awsome actors, which performed at their best, I would nominate it for an academy award, it trully deserves the recognition. It was a terrible accident that impacted an entire town. The movie is a good movie to watch with older kids. Matthew Fox did a great job, as well as the other actors. What is he still doing on "Lost"? I know he is the lead actor in that show. I thought Mattew McConaughey did great job too.
