Not bad for a team that had gone through all of what happened. Also, a decade and a half later, and Marshall was playing for a NCAA I-AA Championship. Then, later, they won a championship. Became the most successful program of the 1990s. Moved to the I-A and still dominated the conference and some people we weren't (like #5 Kansas State). 2 Heisman Candidates and multiple NFL players. I LOVED THIS MOVIE! I just got done watching it and it was sad and happy. The strange thing is that I watched it exactly thirty-seven years after the tragedy happened, November 14, 1970.
My Uncle attended Marshall and most of the movie is done on campus and around the town. He actually got to go to an advanced screening of the movie.
I give it two thumbs up! Watch the credits at the end, it shows actual photos and footage of the team. Matthew McConaughey was awesome!
