However, I wished they would've found someone else to play the older Evolet. The whole point of the movie was that his love was sooo deep for her. That he would chase her to the ends of the earth. Read More Not sure how long ago "Quest for Fire" was made,but the previews gave me the impression that this movie was going to be in that genre.What a DISAPPOINTMENT.If your going to do comedy about that period then "It's about Time" the ancient tv show was more fitting.I watch a lot of movies and usually not too critical but this movie was uninteresting from the start,the more I watched the less I wanted to see.Miss this one,.5 star for promotion. The cgi was pretty decent, but th e acting was horrific, what was worse is that the other tribe was all subtitles., which i dont mind on good foreign films, but htis one is not.
its a long boring trek.. and teh movie is only 1.5 hrs long...

Very UNauthentic historically and here we are watching these anciet folks with beautiful Brit accents - gorgeous pearly white teeth well mannered people that lived 10,000 years before Christ - lol - c'monnnnn they did everything but hold their pinkys out while sipping Earle Gray out of china cups. The special effects were like something from the 50s-60s (truly no better than that at ALL)..and the story is one that was totally UN-original...however...if you take this like a drive-in 60s B movie and try not to compare to TOP Drawer movies like Apocolypto - and see this as the bottom drawer B movie (just for kicks) film that it REALLY is (though I'm not sure it was intended that way) then you know? It's okay. But it's merely "okay" and not the intelligent sweeping epic I was expecting after all the hype. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No |
