Read More The story is slow to develop and once it does, I didn't care enough about the characters to see where it was headed. The plot is pretty lame and was so completely ridiculous that I couldn't suspend my disbelief at all and felt annoyed at wasting my time watching what could have been a pretty good movie. Read More i saw this movie in the theaters and its wasnt too great. maybe im a sucker for realism but they are on some kind of foriegn continent a gizillion years ago and everyone speak english. not that im nitpicky maybe it just wasnt for me. Read More The cinematography is pretty good, musical score is adequate, special effects adequate, casting and acting decent, costumes are laughable. The leading characters and overall story lines are not as compelling as those in similar films, such as 300 and Apocalypto. These latter films also feature much better acting by the leading men. All three of these films pit tribal peoples against a dominator/conquest society (see spiral dynamics purple vs. red) and glorify tribal life (see Ken Wilber pre trans fallacy). This is dangerous enough since tribal is way below even republicans, scientists, and democrats (see blue/orange/green), but this film is just plain bad. Let me be specific without spoiling anything. It is racist and the following are quite unbelievable: horsemen civility (esp. w/r/t women), saber tooth behavior, spear tossing (also cliché), relative velocity of horseback vs. foot travel, pervasiveness of a common language, and so on.
