Take the story of Apocalypto, the narration from 300, the raptors from Jarassic park and turn them into large birds and you have 10,000 BC. I was really lookin foward to this movie, but found myself falling asllep in the theaters. It's not that is a horrible movie ,its just nothing really new here. The Sabertooth tiger that hypes up the commerical is only in 3 minutes of the movie. Also there are so many timeline problems here. An over hyped Hollywood Blockbuster

Characters are one dimensional, generic & lacking any logic for their actions. Why does D'Leh free the beast? I'm trapped in a spiked pit w/prehistoric vultures trying to eat me & rain is flooding the pit so drowning's an issue, idea let me free the Saber Tooth that's snarling at me. Acting is 2nd rate B movie quality. Story is typical cookie cutter formula. Target audience of 8-18 yr may like it out of ignorance & lack of cinematic taste, but avid movie goers hoping to see a prehistoric disaster film, be ready to watch a nonsensical film disaster. SFX are sub par despite big budget. In a scene by a lake one might notice ripples in the water, THEY AREN'T MOVING! It's a PHOTOGRAPH. There's a racial undertone w/ casting and story of the movie. Ex: to subliminally personalize the film for the target audience of white teens, a blue eyed Caucasian girl is considered the prize despite being historically impossible. Perhaps German director Roland Emmerich still has hopes for his Master Race.

I love dinosaurs and prehistoric creatures. So, from the trailer this movie looked pretty interesting. But alas, from the opening scene onward it was so poorly scripted I could not bare to watch the whole thing. It is a completely failed attempt at an epic film. The characters are cave people, Neanderthal-types, but with proper English accents and Lenny Kravitz hair cuts! I mean, HELLO?!!? Even the spears they were using looked like they were made from cheap plastic, so flimsy that they couldn't kill a field mouse let alone a saber-toothed tiger or woolly mammoth. The CGI is ok, but not spectacular. But it's the cheesy, goof-ball scripts, ridiculously styled-out wardrobes, highly evolved languages, and terrible acting that makes this film completely lost, unbelievable, and unwatchable. My advice is don't waste your time. It's nothing more than some sub-par eye at best.

Sorry to say, but this movie is not worth watching. The acting stinks, the timeline is unrealistic .

I thought this was a very sweet love story. The special effects were good; especially the computer generated animals. The location shots were breathtaking. My favorite had to be the one over the ice covered mountains. Anyone who went to see this movie for any historical content was disappointed, but for those of us who didn't, who wanted to see a story about a boy who grows up and becomes a man, saves his people and the woman he loves, even though no one believes he is capable or brave enough, we were not disappointed. Plus, Steven Strait in a loincloth didn't hurt!!!!

This movie had alot of potential, but it got lost in translation! Everyone speaking perfect english and one point the Main character said the word "please"....sorry but back in barbaric days of 10,000 BC I really don''t think anyone said "Please!". The ending was also toooo convenient to make it a "happy ending"...please - the Love interest DIED...how does a Sayertooth bring them back- realistically...they couldn't. NOTE: for those who haven't watched it yet I didn't say which one.
