A great piece of cinematic history. This is the first time I've seen Garbo onscreen, and it's easy to see how she mesmerized her audience and remained a fascination to her public long years after she had given up acting and retreated from public life. I enjoy interspersing my more contemporary movie rentals with those from Hollywood's Golden Age. John Gilbert, her romantic lead in "Queen Christina," pales beside her.

Queen Christina is another beautiful love story with Garbo and Gilbert. The costumes in this one are wonderful. My husband even watched this one and gave it a thumbs up.
