I do question what these guys were thinking that got them into the initial situation, but after that, what were those in power thinking in the way these guys were treated. This movie makes you think. I question the motivations of the guys in this movie, but I also question the tactics used on these guys by those with power. All men are created equal and are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights.... Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

The movie confirmed what I was afraid was the case with this prison. Totally contrary to American values. Guantanamo should be shut down yesterday! Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

Read More I like the guy who stopped watching this movie half way through because it was too tedious and slow-moving, watching people get hauled around and beaten up over and over. If people don't want to watch an hour-and-a-half movie about this, imagine being the people who have to live it for years?! This movie is shocking, saddening. Amazing, that we've been allowed to get away with this for so long.
All leaders, before allowing such treatment, should have to endure it themselves. I don't care what the reason... an eye for an eye leaves the world blind. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

Read More The harrowing story of these near boys is completely undermined by the filmmaker's wiilfull obfuscation of whether these kids were just happless idiots or true Al Quaida followers. The film coyly tries to imply that they're innocent, like a flirting coquette brushing off her sordid past. This problem mars this film beyond hope. If the point of the movie was to say, "Americans shouldn't treat its prisoners so badly, or hold them indefinitely without charging them," then fine, take that noble stance. It can hold whether those kids were junior Al-Quaida troublemakers, or just some blokes. Instead, the film comes across as confused and empty. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

If you hang out with terrorist; you will be lucky to be alive. If you are a terrorist you should not be treated like a human. Of course nobody can be charged with a crime in this war, when they do not fight like normal military wearing uniforms and following the law of arm conflict. Read More Do I believe that some detainees, both innocent and guilty, were treated inhumanely at Guantanamo?? Yes. But that still does not stop this movie from being mostly left-wing propaganda. Many of the stories that have come out of Guantanamo have been proven false. But of course, why would terrorists, who are some of the world's worst killers, want to make Guantanamo look anything but horrific when so many people in our country want to condemn our government and military for the way we treat these detainees. When they stop beheading our soldiers and other workers, then I will feel worse for those at Guantanamo. This film fails because it wants to make our government look as bad as possible without questioning who the Tipton Three really were or why they got caught in Afghanistan and then with a Taliban caravan that was turning themselves in to Alliance Forces. The movie finally got too tedious, too confusing, too slow moving. Go grab one of the guys, haul him into the interogation tent, beat him up some, and back into the compound. Do I believe that this type of abuse occurred? Yes, although I'm not sure as to the degree I believes it occurs. No one in their right mind condones abuse and torture. However, if the people who made this movie wanted to present a compelling movie to do more than preach to the chior of the "America is always wrong" bunch, they failed miserably. The credability issues I had with the protaganists in the movie didn't help either. If you want to change hearts and minds, you have to make a movie people will believe and watch the whole way through. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No |
