It is like a student copy of a Renoir. The director try hard to make a exact copy, scene, light, photograph, music, and change what is deep and sweet on the original Mostly Martha. Why didn't the director Scott Hicks and producers just invest advertising and showing the original Mostly Martha instead of filming this ridiculous remake ? Close this ReviewWAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Read MoreThis movie was apparently scripted, directed, and acted under the influence of some narcotic. Every ounce of the original (Mostly Martha) film's energy was distilled away in this vaporous remake. As delightful as Catherine Zeta-Jones is to look at, her version of Martina Gedeck's obsessive master chef was like diluting straight whiskey 90% with water. As glamorous as Aaron Eckhart may be to American women, he couldn't capture the endearing eccentricity and appeal of Sergio Castellitto's original character (for which I blame the filmmaker, not him). Via con Me - the song by Paolo Conte - which was integral to the original film, was patched incongruously into No Reservations to somehow provide the backdrop to the growing romance between the main characters. Why???? You'd only know if you saw Mostly Martha first. And if you did, you'd realize what a sorry and inadequate attempt this American version is. Close this ReviewWAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes

In fact, she completely fell short of the personality. Other than that, it is a very sweet, easy going, at times slow movie that leaves the audience pretty much with nothing at the end. Very predictable too ... Close this ReviewWAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes

My husband and I watched this together and loved it. Had everything: kid, business partners, love, comedy, and sadness. Great for a rainy day. WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes
